The REHABDATA Thesaurus

To learn more about the Thesaurus, browse through terms and "nonterms" or explore how these terms compare with the International Classification of Functioning, Disability, and Health. You can also learn about ordering documents and how to add a publication to the database.

The NARIC Thesaurus is based on a taxonomy developed over more than 40 years by rehabilitation professionals, researchers, and librarians. The NARIC Thesaurus has over 100 words and includes words common (terms) and uncommon (nonterms) to the field.

Nonterms are listed in italics and with an asterisk (*); click the word to find alternative terms that can be used for keyword search at NARIC. Only terms are used to catalog items in the NARIC collections (e.g., descriptors for Disability and Rehabilitation Literature Database [REHABDATA]). Click on each term for information for related terms in NARIC Thesaurus, what it is used for, and related terms in the World Health Organization's International Classification of Functioning, Disability, and Health (ICF).
