Abstract: This chapter offers ideas for teachers about how to integrate accessibility into their computer science classes and how to teach more inclusively. It discusses basic foundations of accessibility and disability that are relevant to major areas of computer science teaching and presents methods for integrating those topics into course designs. The authors offer tips for helping students to qualify for accommodations, making the class inclusive regardless of student status, interacting with students with disabilities, addressing possible breakdowns in campus disability support, and resolving access conflicts. They also encourage instructors to think holistically about access needs throughout the learning environment and to check in with students about their accessibility needs in specific class contexts. In addition to students, instructors and other members of the course staff can have disabilities as well, and it is critical that their access needs are met.
