Abstract: Video forum provides overall background information on universal fitness and talks about fitness issues and options for individuals with spinal cord injury (SCI) for becoming more fit and increasing physical activity to improve well-being and promote better health. Presenter discusses the effects of SCI on exercise response, cautions before starting out, the three exercise components (cardiovascular conditioning, muscle strength and endurance, and stretching), respiratory fitness, and getting started. Three individuals with SCI share their tips and experiences and demonstrate what exercises they do to stay physically fit, and answer audience questions. Run time: 1 hour 14 minutes 44 seconds.
