Systematic review of research on community participation by people with disabilities. Setting the research agenda.

Abstract: Video describes how literature review helps set the research agenda related to people with disabilities and their participation in the community. Author discusses how academic and applied research takes a number of different tacks toward producing products that are useful to people in the community and strategies and measures that researchers are using including static kinds of measures that are simplistic to interactive measures that are more complex to dynamic measures that are quite sophisticated. Methods for measuring the environment that are not only going to lead to a greater, in-depth understanding of the concept of participation, but are leading to practical tools that can be used in the community as well are also discussed.
