Abstract: Final Report of a program in Bombay to investigate the extent to which a comprehensive social and vocational rehabilitation program could alleviate the psychosocial and economic consequences of cancer for the patients and their families. Specific objectives included identifying the problems unique to rehabilitation of cancer patients, identifying relative rehabilitation potentials of patients with different kinds of cancer, developing criteria for selecting patients for rehabilitation, and identifying skilled job areas appropriate for training. Vocational training was also provided to dependents when necessary to maintain the family as a unit. Describes a homebound work program.
