Abstract: Study to develop an orthotic device, for treatment of a femur or knee fracture, which would be less expensive, would reduce off-work disability time and would reduce the incidence of permanent joint disability. Advocates use of a cast brace with progressive ambulation. Describes clinical experience, dynamic relationships, cast brace and interface materials and brace finishing. Includes instructions for applying the cast, tables, photographs and references. For earlier report of the project see CN 06719.
