Abstract: Fact sheet provides an overview of poliomyelitis, its forms, its late effects, and what to do about it. The late effects of poliomyelitis are found in individuals who contracted paralytic poliomyelitis earlier in their lives are now experiencing a new set of symptoms, ranging from severe fatigue which may follow moderate activity to generalized joint and muscle pain, muscle cramping and progressive muscle weakness.
